Word Search (was re: Euler Project #11 solution)

(topic was split from the Member’s Only forum, as this doesn’t include any Euler stuff

Thanks!

I was half-way there…

But you should know that a couple of guys in class just looked at the grid, and picked 4 numbers and guessed right. lol!

For some people, this is like a wordsearch puzzle, but instead of letters, you have numbers. I think some would be able to do it manually.

On the other hand, you could use @ChocolateKid’s code to solve actual word searches, right? Maybe have a dictionary lookup? Great username, BTW.

Hmmmm, that seems pretty cool actually. Can you expand a bit on how u would do that; I don’t know if there is any library that has the entire library, unless ur talking about a function like dict().

You could just use a text file, and quickly search through it for words.

Something like this one: https://github.com/dwyl/english-words

Actually, this one is even better. Fewer words, and they’re sorted by how common they are: https://github.com/first20hours/google-10000-english

And here’s a python project on github that does this already

It’s almost the same approach you took in solving the Euler #11 puzzle.
